VIVALDI was founded in 2009 from an experience of over 30 years of Nicola Arnoldi in the dairy and cheese sector. He was born and raised in a family of cheese seasoners in Taleggio, a small village in the valley that brings the same name: Val Taleggio (Bergamo). In 1989 he moved to Valsassina (LC) where he worked as sales director of a leading dairy company of the area, and during his works he managed to considerably develop the company’s presence on the foreign market.
Thanks to his extensive travels in Europe, America and Asia, Nicola realized how much foreign consumers know and appreciate Italian Food and how their requests are becoming increasingly demanding. This led to his decision to start a new commercial structure, VIVALDI, aimed at matching the demands of the global market with the supply of Italian traditional cheese.
THE ITALIAN CHEESE MAKING TRADITION WITHIN EASY REACH
Italy occupies a leading position in the dairy and cheese sector worldwide; the excellence of its products is embodied in a wide variety of cheese, 42 of which have obtained the recognition of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) from the European Community. In these cases, the cheese is made, ripened and packed in specific areas, according to defined criteria and with specific characteristics that allow the consumers to recognize its authenticity; each one has a Consortium that ensures the respect of the conditions and of all the legal requirements. In the majority of the cases, the cheese is made in family-run small businesses, and this contributes to link the products sales to the area of production. Thanks to VIVALDI these producers can now reach International markets.
