It is the combination of two very different ingredients: the sweet and creamy Mascarpone, produced by coagulated cream, and Gorgonzola Dolce DOP, blue cheese with a salty and intense flavour. The creation of this combination of products is created throught the alternation of layers of mascarpone with layers of Gorgonzola.
This is widely appreciated to be consumed alone by itself, but in some countries such as France, they use it to prepare the famous Gorgonzola sauce, as this product is creamy and balanced in the flavour.
